Photos taken on a phone usually carry hidden details: where the picture was taken (GPS coordinates), when, and which device took it. Drop your photos in below and get clean copies with all of that removed, ready to share or post online.

How to use it
- Drop your photos onto the box, or click it to choose them (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 20 at a time).
- Press Remove photo data. Each photo is saved again without its hidden details.
- Download the clean copies one by one, or all together as a ZIP.
- Share the clean copies, not the originals. Your original files are never changed.
What is EXIF data?
EXIF is information that cameras and phones store inside every photo file. It can include the GPS coordinates of where you were standing, the date and time, the make and model of the device, and settings such as exposure. Many social networks remove it when you post, but plenty of websites, forums, marketplaces and email attachments do not, so a photo of an item for sale in your home can reveal your address.
What this tool removes, and what it keeps
Each photo is drawn again from its pixels and saved as a new file, so the hidden data blocks are simply not copied across: location, camera and device details, date taken, thumbnails, and editing history. The picture keeps its size and type. Photos taken sideways are turned the right way up first, so they still look correct once the rotation note is gone.
JPG and WebP files are compressed again at high quality (95%), so there can be a very slight difference in file size and detail. PNG files are saved without loss.
When you should strip photo data
Before you sell things online, post to a forum, send photos to someone you don't know well, attach pictures of your home, your children or your workplace to a public listing, or share pictures anywhere you wouldn't be comfortable revealing the exact spot. If you want to keep the details for your own records, keep the originals and share the clean copies.
How to check it worked
On Windows, right-click the clean file, choose Properties, then the Details tab: the GPS and camera fields should be empty. On a Mac, open the file in Preview and choose Tools → Show Inspector. Compare with your original to see the difference.
Frequently asked questions
How do I remove GPS location from a photo?
Drop the photo into the box above and press Remove photo data. The copy you download has no location, camera or date-taken details.
Does it change my original photo?
No. The tool makes new copies and leaves your originals exactly as they were.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. The photos are processed by your browser on your own device, and nothing is sent to a server.
Will the photo quality change?
JPG and WebP copies are saved at 95% quality, which is visually almost identical to the original. PNG copies are lossless.
Does it work on screenshots and downloaded images?
Yes. Any JPG, PNG or WebP works. Screenshots usually have little hidden data, but it is removed too.
What about iPhone HEIC photos?
Browsers can't open HEIC. Set the camera to Most Compatible (Settings → Camera → Formats), or export the photo as a JPG from the Photos app first.
